Kayaking in MissoulaKnown as the Garden City, Missoula has something to offer travelers in every season.

Winter is a great time to explore the local beauty and wilderness while skiing, ice fishing or snow shoeing. If you prefer the indoors during the winter months, you can take advantage of Missoula’s eclectic boutiques or curl up with a book from one of the local bookstores.

Spring hosts unique fishing opportunities and the restored sunshine energizes the community. Many of the local markets start in late spring and Caras Park begins to come alive with new events. The rivers roar with the melting snow cap and struggle to clear themselves of winter debris.

Local rivers and parks are host to outdoor enthusiasts of all ages during the summer months. Everyone enjoys fresh cherries from the Flathead Lake area and Montana’s elusive huckleberries. If you can see a river you will likely see clusters of tubers floating by basking in the sun with friends and family. Missoulians cherish the surrounding rivers and lakes and commune with them all summer long. If you love golf, be sure to visit one of the 8 public courses located in Missoula County.

Fall is magnificent and the turning leaves are a beautiful sight from many of the surrounding trailheads. This is the time of year to enjoy a University of Montana Grizzly football game, parades, brew fests and the delicious food that can be found throughout the city.

Visiting Missoula is a wonderful experience anytime of the year. We welcome you to come by the Missoula Area Chamber of Commerce office for information about activities, attractions, and events. Be sure to visit us online at www.missoulachamber.com.
